good morning friends. I am taking the day off to get Taylor ready to march in the town’s Christmas parade, and to complete some DIY projects that I’m excited about showing you all next week! In the mean time though I want to introduce you to one of the newest friends I’ve found online, Isobel from holdenonbaby, a beautiful blog that features practical style and lovely pictures. So lovely that it was voted as a Top 20 Baby Photo Blog by Babble. Enjoy, and see you back here Monday!
Hello For The Love Of readers!! My name is Isobel and I am so excited for the opportunity to share with you today. I am the voice behind holdenonbaby, a lifestyle and style blog that follows my life as a first time mama to my 15-month old son, Holden, and our style choices along the way. On the blog I share musings about parenthood and real-life style inspiration for fashion-forward families.
I have always admired Andrea’s style and today I wanted to share a 4 easy tips for sprucing up your mama wardrobe.
As a stay-at-home mama, it’s not always easy to find the motivation or energy to wear anything other than a pair of yoga pants and a tee. There’s no business casual dress code you’re required to follow and depending on the day, potentially little to no adult interaction or judgement. You no longer have that extra hour or so in the morning to primp and casually decide on the day’s outfits, not to mention the fact that within minutes of dressing you will likely have some sort of stain on your outfit.
But putting yourself together is an integral part of feeling good about yourself and is an important example to set for your little one. So without further ado, here are 4 quick and easy tips to spruce up your style.
1. Maxi dresses. Despite the fact that they are comfortable and you feel like you are still in your pajamas, maxi dresses automatically make you look dressed up and like you put some sort of effort into your attire.
2. Low-heeled boots. Obviously I would love to wear 5-inch heels everyday like Rachel Zoe because slipping on a pair of heels feels like instant sex appeal, but chasing after a little wild man makes this impossible. So I’ve traded in my high heels for low-heeled ankle boots. They are easy to run around in and the little heel will give you some satisfaction that you miss from your high heels.
3. No heat curls. This has to be the greatest gift that pinterest has given to me. They take less than 5 minutes of your time before bed and you will wake up looking as if you spent at least an hour on your hair. Follow
this tutorial for the simplest hair trick ever.
4. Red lipstick. You may be thinking that you can’t pull off red lipstick, but I have a little secret for you,
this Revlon shade looks good on everyone. I don’t know why, but it does and I have tested this theory on quite a few women. If you don’t have time for anything else, swipe on this shade of red and you will instantly look and feel better.
By chance is it the Seal Beach parade? My son will be in it with his kung fu studio!
