I haven’t worn a proper barrette since I was a little girl, but this Spring I started seeing the reappearance of pretty detailed barrettes all over the place and I love how they are looking in flowy hair or to make a simple bun seem not so simple. I especially love that they serve a purpose besides looking pretty; capturing wayward hairs. My hair get so many fly aways and since I’ve been growing it out, it often gets in my face and annoys me. But a pretty barrette may be just what I need to tame the mane while I’m working or even just trying to stay cool. I have the supplies to attempt to make my own sweet barrette, and if it goes well, the DIY will be up on the blog next week. Wish me luck!

OOH! So excited for this one! I love barrettes, too, but feel like I need to “learn” how to wear one properly. (Kind of like belts…I missed that day in school where they sit all the girls down to teach them about accessorizing…I’m terrible!)
